I’m late! I’m late – for a very important date!  No time to say hello/goodbye, I’m late, I’m late, I’m late”.

– The White Rabbit / Alice in Wonderland.

Hmm. Sound familiar?  Join us for a short de-stress every month.

Have you noticed how many people are invested in being right and in convincing everyone around them that they are right?  While this can become tiresome to listen to ( no one enjoys being “talked at” ) and often leads to arguments; there’s another way to consider it.  Since everyone is speaking straight from their point of view, they are speaking their truth at that moment.  You then respond with your point of view.  So arguing is simply trying to convince someone else of your point of view, while others just as vehemently argue to make you change your mind. But what if you just allow everyone their point of view?  Can you imagine how much stress that would take off of you not to engage in the argument? What if you simply said, “That’s not how I see it.” or, “Let’s agree to disagree.”  Give it a try and notice how it feels.

Many of us, in this fast paced world, run on fumes.  The wisdoms passed through our elders during quiet moments with them – the feeling of time standing still as we sit listening to their stories, has all but passed.  Here are two truths.

If you want to know your past – look into your present conditions. If you want to know your future – look into your present actions. ~Chinese Proverb

We are what we think……..With our thoughts, we make the world …… What we think, we become. ~Buddha

Hi – Are you noticing more and more of a build-up of tension in the general population? These tension energies have a pin-ball effect on people.

Just like a pin-ball they jump from person to person, wildly shooting in no order – and they leave  anger and fear and saddness in their wake. And with each person they hit, more tensions are created, and more tension is sent out. Interestingly enough those tension energies are most effective in places where people gather……..schools, malls, offices.

You don’t often feel these stresses in parks, by the water, or around flowers. Nature, by its own definition is natural – and we intuitively feel more calm in natural surroundings.

Bring this calmness to yourself during times of stress by closing your eyes for just a moment and imagining yourself in a beautiful, natural spot. Breathe deeply and regularly as you visualize this place.   You only need do it for a minute to bring yourself back to feeling balanced. If you’re not able to close your eyes, concentrate on breathing deeply at a regular pace. Feel your chest rise and fall, and rise again. It’s very centering and will result in warding off those ping-pong tensions!  Let me know how it works for you.  Namaste – maralie

We are the Ones

There is a river flowing now very fast.

It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid.

They will try to hold on to the shore.

They will feel they are torn apart and will suffer greatly.

Know the river has its destination.

The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river,  keep our eyes open, and our heads above water.

And I say, see who is in there with you and celebrate.

At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally, Least of all ourselves.

For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.

The time for the lone wolf is over.

Gather yourselves! Banish the word struggle from you attitude and your vocabulary.

All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.

“We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”

I’m late! I’m late – for a very important date!  No time to say hello/goodbye, I’m late, I’m late, I’m late”. – The White Rabbit / Alice in Wonderland.

Hmm. Sound familiar? As we gear up towards fall and winter after the lazy days of summer, who doesn’t feel time moving quickly as traditional celebrations gallop towards us? We strive to keep up with routines and obligations and it can darn well get too much!  When that happens we all use  different coping methods – and they all stem from the basic attitude of how we view our lives. Some throw up their hands and say,”I’ll never catch up.” They would be our friends with the half empty cup. Then there’s the people who say,”I can’t imagine how I’ll catch up, but I will.”  These folks are perpetually optimistic regarding outcomes……. Their cups are half full and I’d bet their stress levels are lower than the pessimists…….. Can it get any better than that? Acutally – yes!

What would it be like to live well past optimistic and firmly in a place of knowing all will be well?  Here you know you receive support from the universe, that what you need appears……

What? ……..Is that even possible?   From personal experience I can tell you  it is.  It takes work – you have to be diligent about releasing your expectations and fears…… And when you do ….. the cup then overflows.  Intention creates reality and when your intention is to release your limitations (judgements, rules, embarssements, etc) –  magic happens. Give it a try and let me know how it goes! In adventure and possibility! Namaste – maralie

Time is what prevents everything from happening at once.”  ~John Archibald Wheeler.

There are very few people these days who don’t feel time moving more quickly than it used to.  There are lots of theories on whether it is actually speeding up. In the metaphysical world we’ve talked for years about the quickening of time as the Earth is pulled closer and closer to the Sun through gravitational pull.  (Think of a  cone where we were on the outer edge and are now circling slowly to the point of the cone.) In support of this we know that measuring the change in the distance between the Earth and the Moon is accomplished by bouncing lasers off reflectors that were left on the surface of the Moon by the Apollo astronauts. We also know the Moon is moving towards the Sun and that the earth’s rotation is changing.

It’s interesting to remember that hours/minutes/seconds are man-made.  There was (and still exists in some parts of the world) a time where people began work at sunrise and stopped at sunset. They ate when the sun was high at mid-day and knew the seasons by the moon, stars and nature’s clues.  If time really is speeding up, we quantify it by our 24-hour clock and how many fewer hours there seem to be in each day to get our work done.  I wonder if the few people/cultures still living by nature’s clock noticing it as well?

There’s also the theory that as we age time simply feels like it speeds up. As we age intervals of time take up a smaller and smaller percentages of our lives so we have the perception that time is speeding up. For example: when you were 5 years old a year represented 20% of your life. At 24 it is only 4.2% of your life.  Younger minds are always learning, learning, learning new things.  Everything is new. By 60 the learnings are pretty much ingrained and multitude pieces of  information are automatic knowings to us and we no longer have the bracketed time of learning.

Another belief system follows The Mayan calendar – associated with 9 reation cycles, which represent 9 levels of consciousness or Underworlds as symbolized by the Mayan pyramids. This pyramidal structure of consciousness development can explain things as disparate as the common origin of world religions and the modern complaint that time seems to be moving faster. Here, time, in fact, is speeding up as we transition from the materialist Planetary Underworld that still governs us to a new and higher frequency of consciousness, the Galactic Underworld, in preparation for the final Universal level of conscious Enlightenment.  Yet another belief cycle calls this time The Age of Aquarius.

Or could it simply be the advent of the Internet, cell phones, emails (all of which keep us so completely available to everyone) that we run through our days with no hope of catching up to the workload and our own expectations of what we must accomplish?

So many theories.  Are you finding time moving more quickly?  How does it affect your life and what are the tools you use to assist yourself during times of stress?  Namaste – maralie
